The Mississippi Lumber Manufacturers Association has partnered with ForestryWorks® to help our sawmill members navigate the difficult workforce development issues facing the lumber manufacturing industry in Mississippi.

What is ForestryWorks®?

ForestryWorks® is a collaborative effort by the Forest Workforce Training Institute and other partners to address the workforce issues within the nation's forest industry. 

Why have we partnered together?

Many lumber manufacturing businesses in our state are struggling to find qualified workforce members to operate their mills. The ForestryWorks® promotional campaign was developed to create a pipeline of workers for the forest industry by promoting forestry careers and facilitating training needed to qualify for those jobs.

Who should attend the webinar?  

Any staff member of a MLMA mill member is welcome to attend the webinar. Managers in operations and human resources are encouraged to attend so they can learn details about how to utilize the benefits of our partnership.

Does this cost money?

No. This is a free informational meeting for MLMA mill members.

What will be discussed? 

We will be sharing details of our plans to promote careers in the lumber manufacturing industry in Mississippi. This will include information on our workforce ambassador committee, how to post your job openings on the ForestryWorks® Mississippi job board, and our strategy to drive job seekers to your mill.

How long will it last?

We anticipate the meeting will last 30 minutes to 1 hour.

How do I register?

Can I register someone other than myself? 

Yes, you are welcome to register any staff member of a MLMA mill member. Make sure to include names and emails of all registrants so they can receive the link to the Zoom meeting.
